The Pietecx DevOps Maturity Model

Assess your organization's software delivery maturity and identify the highest-impact improvements.

Software delivery maturity varies enormously across enterprises - even within the same organization. Pietecx uses a five-level maturity model to baseline teams and prioritize investments.

Level 1 - Ad hoc: Manual deployments, no CI/CD, siloed teams. Level 2 - Managed: Basic CI pipelines, some test automation, shared repositories. Level 3 - Defined: Standardized CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, environment parity. Level 4 - Measured: SLOs/SLIs, DORA metrics tracked, blameless postmortems. Level 5 - Optimizing: Continuous experimentation, platform engineering, self-service infrastructure.

Most enterprises we assess sit between Level 2 and Level 3. The fastest path to improvement is standardizing CI/CD templates and adopting infrastructure-as-code - changes that typically pay for themselves within two quarters.

Our DevOps Transformation solution targets Level 3→4 progression in a single engagement cycle.
